Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them

كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنة فيها

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبِي، سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ إِذَا قَالَ ‏"‏ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated from Abu Hurairah that when the Messenger of Allah(PBUH)said: “Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praiseHim),” he said: “Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O our Lord, to You is thepraise).” Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏.‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِذَا قَالَ الإِمَامُ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ‏.‏ فَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)said: “When the Imam says: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hearsthose who praise Him),’ say: ‘Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O our Lord,toYou is the praise).’” Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ إِذَا قَالَ الإِمَامُ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ‏.‏ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that he heard the MessengerofAllah (PBUH) say: “When the Imam says: ‘Sami’ Allahu limanhamidah(Allah hears those who praise Him),’ say: ‘Allahumma,Rabbana walakal-hamd (O Allah! O our Lord! To You is the praise).’” Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ ‏"‏ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated that Ibn Abu Awfa said: “When the Messenger of Allah(PBUH)raised his head from Ruku’, he said: ‘Sami’ Allahu limanhamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil’ as-samawati wa mil’al-ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d (Allah hears thosewho praiseHim. O Allah! O our Lord, to You is the praise as much asfills theheavens, as much as fills the earth and as much as You willafterthat).’” Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ، يَقُولُ ذُكِرَتِ الْجُدُودُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ جَدُّ فُلاَنٍ فِي الْخَيْلِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ آخَرُ جَدُّ فُلاَنٍ فِي الإِبِلِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ آخَرُ جَدُّ فُلاَنٍ فِي الْغَنَمِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ آخَرُ جَدُّ فُلاَنٍ فِي الرَّقِيقِ ‏.‏ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَلاَتَهُ وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ آخِرِ الرَّكْعَةِ قَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَطَوَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَوْتَهُ بِالْجَدِّ لِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated that Abu ‘Umar said: “I heard Abu Juhaifah say: Goodfortune was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)while he was performing prayer. A man said: ‘so-and-so’s fortuneis inhorses.’ Another man said: ‘So-and-so’s fortune is incamels.’ Anotherman said: ‘So-and-so’s fortune is in sheep.’Another man said: ‘So-and-so’s fortune is in slaves.’ While theMessenger of Allah (PBUH) wasfinishing his prayer, he raised his headat the end of the last Rak’ahand said: ‘Allahumma Rabbanalakal-hamd mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al-ard wa mil’ ma shi’tamin shai’in ba’du. Allahumma la mani’ limaa’taita wa lamu’ti lima mana’ta, wa la yanfa’u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd(Allahhears those who praise Him. O Allah! O our Lord! To You is thepraiseas much as fills the heavens, as much as fills the earth and asmuchas You will after that. O Allah, there is none who can withholdwhatYou give, and none who can give what You withhold, and the goodfortune of any fortunate person is to no avail against You).’ TheMessenger of Allah (PBUH) elongated the word Jadd (fortune) so thatthey would know that it was not as they had said.” Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ جَافَى يَدَيْهِ فَلَوْ أَنَّ بَهْمَةً أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ لَمَرَّتْ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated from Maimunah that when the Prophet (PBUH) prostrated,hewould hold his forearms away from his sides, such that if a lambwanted to pass under his arms, it would be able to do so. Translation Not Available
