حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ الأَيِّمُ أَحَقُّ بِنَفْسِهَا مِنْ وَلِيِّهَا وَالْبِكْرُ تُسْتَأْذَنُ فِي نَفْسِهَا وَإِذْنُهَا صُمَاتُهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn al-Fadl from Nafi ibnJubayr ibn Mutim from Abdullah ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah,may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "A woman who has beenpreviously married is more entitled to her person than her guardian,and a virgin must be asked for her consent for herself, and herconsent is her silence " Translation Not Available
