حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ . وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُسْتَخْلَفُ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn ja'far (the words are): Marwan had made Abu Huraira as his deputy. and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Muthanna (the words are). حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ - عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِيقَدْ أَعْجَبَتْهُ جُمَّتُهُ وَبُرْدَاهُ إِذْ خُسِفَ بِهِ الأَرْضُ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِي الأَرْضِ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ" .
Chapter: The Prohibition Against Strutting With Pride, And Being Amazed With One's ClothesAbu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said that there was a person who used to walk with pride because of his thick hair and fine mantles.
