وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ لِبَنِيهِ يَا بَنِيَّ لاَ يُهْدِيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الْبُدْنِ شَيْئًا يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يُهْدِيَهُ لِكَرِيمِهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَكْرَمُ الْكُرَمَاءِ وَأَحَقُّ مَنِ اخْتِيرَ لَهُ ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that hisfather used to say to his sons, "My sons, let none of you sacrificeany animal which he would be ashamed to sacrifice for a noble woman,for surely Allah is the noblest of noble ones, and the most deservingof those for whom things are chosen."
