وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ سَاقَ بَدَنَةً تَطَوُّعًا فَعَطِبَتْ فَنَحَرَهَا ثُمَّ خَلَّى بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَأْكُلُونَهَا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ وَإِنْ أَكَلَ مِنْهَا أَوْ أَمَرَ مَنْ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا غَرِمَهَا ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Said ibn al-Musayyab said, "If someone dedicates an animal voluntarily and then itis injured and he kills it and gives everyone a free hand in eatingit, he owes nothing. If, however, he eats some of it himself, or tellscertain other people to eat it, then he owes compensation." Translation Not Available
