كتاب القرآن

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ ‏{‏قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ‏}‏ تَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَّ ‏{‏تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ‏}‏ تُجَادِلُ عَنْ صَاحِبِهَا ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Humayd ibnAbd ar-Rahman ibn Awf had told him that Surat al-Ikhlas (Sura 112) wasequal to a third of the Qur'an, and that Surat al-Mulk (Sura 67)pleaded for its owner. Translation Not Available

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سُمَىٍّ، مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ فِي يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ كَانَتْ لَهُ عَدْلَ عَشْرِ رِقَابٍ وَكُتِبَتْ لَهُ مِائَةُ حَسَنَةٍ وَمُحِيَتْ عَنْهُ مِائَةُ سَيِّئَةٍ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ حِرْزًا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ وَلَمْ يَأْتِ أَحَدٌ بِأَفْضَلَ مِمَّا جَاءَ بِهِ إِلاَّ أَحَدٌ عَمِلَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayy, the mawla of AbuBakr, from Abu Salih as-Samman from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger ofAllah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Whoever says'There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. The Kingdomand praise belong to Him and He has power over everything' (La ilahailla'llah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu'l mulku wa lahu'l hamd, wahuwa ala kulli shay'in qadir) one hundred times a day, it is the samefor him as freeing ten slaves. One hundred good actions are writtenfor him and one hundred wrong actions are erased from him, and it is aprotection from Shaytan for that day until the night. No-one doesanything more excellent than what he does except someone who does morethan that." Translation Not Available

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ سَبَّحَ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَكَبَّرَ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَحَمِدَ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَخَتَمَ الْمِائَةَ بِلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ غُفِرَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ وَلَوْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Ubayd, the mawla ofSulayman ibn Abd al-Malik, from Ata ibn Yazid al-Laythi that AbuHurayra said, "Whoever says 'Glory be to Allah' (Subhana'llah) thirty-three times and 'Allah is Greater' (Allahu akbar) thirty-three timesand 'Praise be to Allah' (al-hamdu lillah) thirty-three times, andseals the hundred with 'There is no god but Allah, alone without anypartner. The Kingdom and praise belong to Him and He has power overeverything' (La ilaha illa'llah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu'l mulkuwa lahu'l hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir) after every prayerwill have his wrong actions forgiven him even if they are abundant asthe foam on the sea." وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ صَيَّادٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ فِي الْبَاقِيَاتِ الصَّالِحَاتِ إِنَّهَا قَوْلُ الْعَبْدِ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik that Umara ibn Sayyad had heardSaid ibn al Musayyab say about abiding good deeds that they were aslave's saying 'Allah is greater' (Allahu akbar) and 'Glory be toAllah' (Subahana'llah) and 'Praise be to Allah' (al-hamdu lillah) and'There is no god but Allah and there is no power and no strengthexcept by Allah.' (La ilaha illa'llah wa la hawla wa laquwwata illa bi'llah.) Translation Not Available

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ، أَعْمَالِكُمْ وَأَرْفَعِهَا فِي دَرَجَاتِكُمْ وَأَزْكَاهَا عِنْدَ مَلِيكِكُمْ وَخَيْرٍ لَكُمْ مِنْ إِعْطَاءِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْوَرِقِ وَخَيْرٍ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْ تَلْقَوْا عَدُوَّكُمْ فَتَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَهُمْ وَيَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى ‏.‏ قَالَ ذِكْرُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ‏.‏ قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ وَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ مَا عَمِلَ ابْنُ آدَمَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ‏.‏

Yahya related to me from Malik that Ziyad ibn Abi Ziyad said thatAbu'd-Darda had said, "Shall I not tell you the best of your deeds,and those that give you the highest rank, and those that are thepurest with your King, and are better for you than giving gold andsilver, and better for you than meeting your enemy and striking theirnecks?" They said, "Of course." He said, "Remembrance (dhikr) of Allahta ala." Translation Not Available
